Clinical Evaluation of Aortic Valve Replacement

Abstract
|
|
|
From August, 1986 to December, 1990, aortic valve replacement was performed in 33 Patients at the Chonnam National University Hospital. Of the valves implanted 25 were St. Jude, 7 Duromedics, and 2 Bjork-Shiley.
The hospital mortality rate was 6.1% and the late mortality was none.
Follow-up was done on 28 surviving patients ; mean follow-up period was 31. 21±16.96 months. Valve-related and anticoagulant-related complications were none.
The actuarial survival rate was 93.4% at 5 years.
